The 1st Annual Summer Picnic hosted by the Filipino community of West Edmonton Christian Assembly(WECA) was held at Hawrelak Park on Saturday, July 10, 2010 with around 100 attendees including family and friends. Glenn Patrick, WECA Senior Pastor delivered a short message about freedom which is timely on the celebration of 112th Philippine Independence from Spain (June 12, 1898). Pinoy is an informal demonym referring to the Filipino people in the Philippines as well as overseas Filipinos around the world.
