2016 WECA Masters League Finals
Pastor Randy Thompson shared a short message prior to the awarding of trophies with the topic on being born again and the reference was taken from John 3:3 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again,[a] you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”. Pastor Randy made an illustration between a ball and a person. Without air ,the basketball cannot function as a ball as it was designed. Similarly, a person without the Holy Spirit is without power and is helpless spiritually.
Pastor Randy even shared basketball history, where it originated and who invented it.

Pasko sa WECA 2016
It's been another year as Pinoys at WECA once again hosted and celebrated the annual Pasko sa WECA. Mark and the Multi-Cultural Band led the attendees with the Spanish Christmas song Feliz Navidad, and How Great Is Our God that was also sang in different languages, Tagalog, Korean, Spanish and French. A dance number by the kids at WECA to the tune of Joy to the World followed the program. Pastor Bob Gal shared a short Christmas message with this year's theme "Belonging" and text was taken from John 1:1-14 and at the end of his message, he called for an invitation to receive the gift of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Special numbers were rendered by Kiel singing "Malamig ang Simoy ng Hangin", followed by a musical rendition of brothers Roswell playing the piano and Ryder with his violent, and Jelo singing O Holy Night.
WECA church activities wherein Pinoys at WECA are involved were shared starting with Mark who invited everyone to attend Thursday prayer meetings and to the upcoming New Year's Midnight Watch. Chris mentioned the Sunday Basketball group with Jonathan sharing his involvement and experience with the sports group as a way of keeping physically healthy and connecting to others.
Delicious Filipino foods including lechon, caldereta, laing, papaitan, pancit, etc. and with the refreshing drink of sago't gulaman were brought and served and everyone was full considering some leftovers.
Again, last night's highlight is the caroling by singing famous Christmas songs in Tagalog and English.
Once again, on behalf of the organizing committee of this year's Pasko sa WECA, thank you for joining us, by bringing your favourite dish and collectively celebrating this year's Christmas.
All the volunteers are greatly appreciated for all the effort, time and resources shared.
