This year's WECA Basketball League started February 19th with Pastor Rob Penny sharing the message about having a hero in our lives. A hero who could save us from life's destruction, no other than the Lord Jesus, the Saviour of the world.
Oath of Sportsmanship was led by Jasper Pinto. Thanks to the organizing committee especially to Jasper and Bots Aspiras, WECA, Seasalt, participating teams and especially the Pinto family at the Committee (scorer, timer, announcer). Thanks to Gideons International Canada for the new testament bibles which were distributed during the opening ceremonies and will continue to be shared to the players and the audience during the duration of the league.
Alpha Omega team of RG Barreras won over Smokin' Aces in the 1st game of the league while NYF defeated the defending champion Knights in the second game.
